What a night!  What a celebration of friendship and family!   What a privilege for Julie Oswin of Julie Oswin Photography Ltd to be asked to photograph and capture the second party for this family.  There is nothing more flattering as a photographer to be asked again to capture special events in people’s lives, this was no exception.

Saturday 14th January was the date for this 70th Birthday Celebration which was held in a marquee in South Yorkshire.  The event was organised by Carol Dennis, Celebrity Party Planner who is based in Harrogate, Yorkshire.

A fabulous night was had by all.

Ronnie Corbett returned to work for his first after-dinner gig since he was taken ill over New Year.   Ronnie was also joined on stage  by ‘Encore Entertainment”, Britain’s Got Talent finalists, Signature,   and finishing the evening was the live band and local lad, Toni Christie.

It was just simply a brilliant evening of celebration with close family and friends enjoying the private celebrations.   Ronnie Corbett was joined on stage by his wife of 50 years, Anne.  They made an impromptu double act and they were hilarious.

Simon, Sarah’s partner sang a medley of numbers and Encore Entertainment sang hits from the West End Musicals and Opera.  Signature from Britain’s Got Talent were simply brilliant and the guests joined in with the Michael Jackson moon walk.

A Marilyn Monroe look-a-like sang Happy Birthday to the host and the live band to finish the evening was local Yorkshire man, Toni Christie.

Julie Oswin was the photographer for the daughter’s 40th Birthday party in 2011 and both Janet & Julie felt extremely honoured to be asked to photograph Sarah’s father’s 70th birthday party.

It is always a compliment to be asked to come back to capture events because they love your work.

What a fantastic night to capture, and simply - “Photography does not get better than this“

Gill & Deb’s held their Civil Partnership Ceremony at County Hall, Leicester with their two witnesses, Gill’s son Tom and Deb’s best friend Sarah and Janet & myself to capture the moment.

It was then into the cream Beaufort car for the drive to Foxton Locks, Market Harborough where all the guests were waiting for Gill & Deb’s to join them on the Vagabond for the cruise  down the Grand Union Canal for their private, intimate marriage ceremony on the canal.  With music playing and readings from family and friends the couple exchanged vows and their rings .

The wedding reception was held at the Foxton Locks Inn, Foxton Locks, Leicestershire overlooking the canal, the weather was simply beautiful, a typical hot summers day.

Julie & Janet of Julie Oswin Photography were the female professional photographers chosen to capture the couple’s special day.   The theme of the wedding was Black & White and the black sashes on the chairs looked stunning in the Orangery and set the scene for what was a beautiful day.

The Groom chose Andy (nickname Teare) as his Best Man and Liam (Keylie’s brother) as his Usher.  Leigh’s nephew Oliver was the Pageboy.   Keylie’s three bridesmaids were her sister Nikki and Nikki’s daughter Erin and Keylie’s best friend Katie.

The Civil Ceremony  took place in the stunning Orangery overlooking the grounds at 1pm.   The photographycoverage included the speeches and the first dance.

Julie Oswin of Julie Oswin Photography  photographed this beautiful summer wedding on July 24th.   David & Hester’s chose  Norwood Park, Southwell as their wedding venue.   The weather was fantastic for the couple as they celebrated their wedding with their families and friends.

Sproxton Cross

Emma’s grandparents married at St Bartholomew’s Church, in the Parish of Sproxton, Melton Mowbray,  Leicestershire in 1954.  Emma & Giles chose this gorgeous village Church for their beautiful summer wedding in July.

In the grounds of the Church stands the Anglo-Scandinavian stone a pre-conquest cross, the only one in Leicestershire that stands complete.   The Sproxton Cross having been carved in the late 10th century, or at the very latest, the early 11th century in date and takes the form of a base, comprising a stone slab and a socket stone, and a shaft and cross head.

The Wedding Reception was held at the fantastic Leicestershire Wedding Venue, Prestwold Hall.    Simply stunning summer flowers were provided by Flowers by Sarah of Quorn.

Family travelled from Italy to  join family and friends in the UK to be with Maria & Stuart’s as they married at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ashby de la Zouch.  Prestwold Hall, a beautiful Leicestershire Wedding Venue was chosen for their wedding reception.

Stuart’s Best Man was Tim, a life-long friend of Stuart’s and his Ushers were Matt, Alex, Joe & Ally.   Sophia, the couple’s daughter and Tim’s daughter were the Flower Girls.  The girls didn’t waste any time in church having lots of fun moving the kneeling stools around!  The video of the wedding day was created by Digi-Scope.

Julie Oswin, female wedding photographer captured  Amy & Richard’s wedding as they were married St Peters Church on Kirk Hill, East Bridgford.   Sadly the Vicar did not allow any photography during the ceremony only after the signing and before the ceremony.    The couple held their Reception at the gorgeous Nottinghamshire Wedding Venue Norwood Park,  Southwell, Nottinghamshire.   Joe was Richard’s best man.   Amy’s Bridesmaids were Emma, Ether & Amanda all school friends of the Bride.

Anna and Sam were married at St Mary & St John’s Parish Church,  Rothley on 18th June 2011 and celebrated with their guests at Anna’s home in Ulverscroft, Leicestershire.   Stone’s Events provided the marquee and catering.

Sam’s brother was the Best Man.   Anna’s bridesmaids were Michelle, Amy  & Katherine, all close friends of the bride.  The two flowergirls were Maddie & Sophie.   Janet and Julie photographed the wedding from the bride & groom’s preparations for the day until the first dance.    The family ‘MG’ was the mode of transport for Sam to drive Anna to the Reception at Ulverscroft.
